You may know her from her former band Bitch and Animal (Righteous Babe Records) or John Cameron Mitchell’s movie “Shortbus”. Her new band, Bitch and The Exciting Conclusion, is infectious and down-right inspiring. Bitch sings, plays electric violin, ukulele, bass and keyboards. Gabriel K sings, plays bass and keyboards. Lee Free rocks the drums.
After touring for over a year together, the three have finally recorded their unique sound, an ep called “B+TEC,” released on Bitch’s own label, Short Story Records.
Their shows combine a harsh, stripped down art-rock sound mixed with tender ballads and larger-than-life Bitch, with Gabriel's minimalist bass lines and vocal harmonies and the fiery drumming of Lee Free, who mixes electronic sounds into her drum set. On stage, their joy is obvious.
Bitch also recently produced and released “Boulder,” a full-length record of folk-hero Ferron. The album includes performances by Ani Difranco, Amy Ray and Emily Sailers of The Indigo Girls, Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas), Jd Samson (Le Tigre), Lyndell Montgomery (Ember Swift), Tina G (god-des and she), Ulali, and others, who are all avid Ferron fans. She made the entire record on her laptop, and camped out in the woods in her RV outside of Ferron’s house to make it.
