"B+TEC" (say 'be tech') is Bitch + The Exciting Conclusion's first recording together as a band. They made it in the winter of 2007 in their hometown, New York City. It can be said this marks a real creative leap for the band, who has been touring together since Bitch's last release, "Make This/Break This." Make this/Break this
A note from Bitch about her album, Make this/Break this, released October 10, 2006.
The themes of the album (formerly called "Almost to the Water") are around the complex relationship of nature vs. urban life. The highway vs. water. The two worlds that I am stretched between. There's also a lot of heartbreak. Personal heartbreak, and also heartbreak about my country and how our government Is robbing so many people, including us, of so many freedoms that are inherent in all human life.
This album came to me in a moment of inspiration that led me to travel far away from my own reality and crack open my guts and see what was there. Make this/Break this, the album that got started by a $30 phone call from Bulgaria to my friend Wayne in New York City. I asked him if we could do it in his small but awesome home studio. Yes came out of his mouth before I even started to tell him what the songs were about. Then, I got my friend June Millingtion (of 70's Fanny fame) to produce the record.
I feel so proud to share these songs with you. Look out for it soon. And spread the word like butter.

Be-Sides (one take wonders and poems) self-released, Capital B Records, 8/04
This record is definitely lo-fi, and was whipped out by Dutchboy and me in the summer. We had all this material recorded, some from early "Almost to the Water" sessions, some from Liz's and my first rehearsal, some from some live appearances in my hometown that Dutchboy captured, and some cuts are me left alone in his studio just hangin' out with the Mike, making up songs and reading poems. Some of the stuff was so timely for the political agony we're experiencing, we just wanted to get it out there to inspire the revolutionary fire.

We asked June Millington to produce it. She was in the band Fanny in the sixties, is an incredible guitarist, and has produced like 30 records or something. We went and lived at her house in the hills of Massachusetts, took over her bedroom and made it a studio for three straight months. I lived in my rv outside. We had a fireplace in the room with us. It was three months of recording, mixing, and experimenting. It was a really great thing that we had access to the studio pretty much all the time (since June is an official rock 'n roller and never sleeps..) Melissa York, the drummer from The Butchies, and Evelyn Harris, the incredible singer who used to sing with Sweet Honey and the Rock, both lent their talents to this record. There's even an appearance of Wayne on it, in the piece called WTC, it's a tape that me and Animal made right after the World Trade Center was hit.

An incredible chance to work with one of our heroines, Ani Difranco. We made half of it with her and this kid Goatboy in her studio. I had just written the words to Scrap Metal. We made it a song in a day. Ganja, Best Cock, Boy Girl Wonder, and Traffic, all were captured there. Recorded The other half with this guy Wayne, who we had just met back then, and would soon become a major character in this Sparkly Queen's world. We always swore from album one that we would have some kind of ode to the sparkly queen on all our records. By the time we got to Wayne's, we still had not written another ode for her. One night in the studio, Animal was playing around on a keyboard he had set up there, and made this crazy beat that felt like a symphony being pushed through an enema bag, and she started chanting that "All Hail Ye Sparkly Queen" and I ran into the other room, grabbed one of my journals, and found the poem I had written for the Queen, and so the song was born.
